St. John’s Pentecost Celebration Includes Gospel in Various Languages | Southampton May 24

Join us to celebrate the Day of Pentecost with one joyful service of Holy Eucharist at 10 AM.

Pentecost is a special day in the life of the Church, when we remember God sending the Holy Spirit into the world. Many call it the “birthday of the Church,” and we’ll be celebrating in true St. John’s style.

Please wear red, the liturgical color of Pentecost, and stay after the service for a birthday party on the front lawn.

As part of the service, those who are able to read in a second language are invited to help proclaim the Gospel together in a joyful chorus of languages, honoring the miracle of Pentecost described in Acts 2. We will have the Gospel reading available in Spanish, Swedish, German, and French. If you speak or read another language and would like to participate, please let Ursula know so we can prepare the reading for you.

It will be a wonderful day of worship, celebration, and community as we kick off the summer season together.
