On Sunday, June 7, 2015 over 80 members of the St. John’s congregation gathered in the parish hall to establish a clear and shared understanding of who we are as a faith community and what our future holds. The lively and enthusiastic discussion uncovered the reasons we live in Southampton and worship at St. John’s. We also identified the attributes and abilities that we hope our new Rector will have and, perhaps most importantly, reflected on our own self-expectations: what we need to do to prepare ourselves for a new minister.
The results of the discussion — the answers to six important, leading questions — were turned into a survey that was administered to over 150 parishioners by team leaders from the Vestry and Search Committee. To review a copy of the survey document, click here.
Survey results were collected and analyzed and became part of the Parish Profile that was developed to inform our Search Committee and aid them in the final identification of the Reverend William Patrick Edwards, St. John’s new rector and the seventh for our parish.
